MMoppy
The MMOPPY is a double-skinned GRP schoolboat, based on the Harty Optimist, with approx. 200litres built-in buoyancy. The interior layout is clutter-free and simple to bale out in the event of capsize and has a non-slip pattern on the floor and on the seating area of the gunwhale. There is ample space for two children to sail at the same time. The rig consists of standard school optimist spars (mast boom and sprit) with a simple unbattened sleeve sail.
The foils are optimist-type varnished plywood. The mast fits into a moulded slot similar to the laser dinghy. The bright red hull and multi-coloured sail makes the boat easy to identify on the water. The wide centreboard case doubles as a seat, which together with the optional rowlocks and 6ft oars, makes the MMOPPY suitable as a tender.
